& and it's really sunny today!

I finished (almost) the sherbet kitten! I added a skirt because I think it looks cuter that way. :) I still need to make the suspenders but I'll do that soon.

Yarn Dyeing

I just finished dyeing a ball of white cotton yarn in a plastic bin. This was my first time trying it and I had to use food coloring because I didn't feel like getting any Kool-Aid at the time. My hands were horrible before! Luckily, my brother is a mechanic so he has this stuff that gets like LITERALLY anything  off of your body. It used like crushed up pumice stones or something. All I KNOW is that it works like a dream. Right now the yarn is drying out side in between two towels in front of my house. :)

Pretty Purse Update

Last night, with help from my mom, I finished the purse. She helped with the finished product by telling me what to put on it since it was just, you know, a pink purse.

VIOLA!

Rag Rug progress

Last night I stayed up until 3 because I really wanted to get started on all of my craft fair things. The fair is in the end of August but I barely have ANYTHING! I made a mini scarf, a washcloth, worked on the rug, and as I'm typing this, a "pretty" purse. No joke, thats what the color is called. My dad says its nuclear pink.

I know for a fact that I am NOT going to be selling the rug because it seriously has a lot of sentimental value to me right now. I have my favorite pajama pants that stopped fitting me three years ago, my favorite Blue's Clues shirt and a lot of other things I really like. Maybe I'll sell one where I get the scraps from Goodwill or something.

Thats all for now! :)

Felting, well brushing and Rag Rug

Yesterday I cleaned out my sink especially well so I could felt my first item. I have a front load washer so I did it by hand. I sat there agitating the yarn for half an hour with no results. I got so fed up I just grabbed one of my dog brushed and just used that instead. The bowl is still in the process of drying but so far it looks pretty good.  There is still some
stitch definition but I meant to do that.

Last night at like 8 I started my new obsession. Crocheting with my hands. Its not as hard as you would think. The only thing that is different is that after a while your hand REALLY hurt but thats after like 6 hours. Basically, you are crocheting with a bendy crochet hook. ANYWAY, I was making a rag rug out of old T-shirts until 1 in the morning. Its not that big but only because that counts me cutting apart the pieces and things.

First Felting

Today, well about 30 minutes ago, I went to my local JoAnn's and I got of course: yarn. It seems every time I go to a yarn store or a place that sells yarn I get at least one ball. Let's just say I'm addicted. Anyway, I normally buy acrylic  yarn for its cheapness and depending on the brand, softness. Sometimes I get cotton too but only Sugar and Cream because there are so many colors to choose from! This time though, I bought some WOOL. You read that right folks. WOOL. I had been at the library earlier and I saw these really cute felted bowls. And since cotton can't be felted (as far as I know) and neither can acrylic, I got some wool. Well It is 80% wool and 20% alpaca but the label said it can felt so yay! I'll keep you updated on the bowls.

Love Nyan cat?

Me too. Well I hope you answered the question before you read on. Otherwise that is considered cheating my friend. Or is it just me talking to myself. ANYWAY, if you LOVE Nyan cat like I do, you have to check out this FREE pattern :)

On Thursday and Friday I was at camp with my grade and  it was super duper fun. I meant to make a specific post about the 100th person visiting but you guys were too fast for me!

Cactus :)

I followed this pattern made by Ana Paula Rimoli from her Amigurumi World book. It's an awesome book and I really recommend it. :)
