Moving the blog

I moved the blog into a new address. here it is. http://icrochetanimals.blogspot.com/all of the posts will be transferred too.

Day 1- Your Favorite Song

My favorite song right now I guess would be Fairytale by Sara Bareilles.
Fairytale
Cinderella's on her bedroom floor
She's got a
Crush on the guy at the liquor store
Cause Mr. Charming don't come home anymore
And she forgets why she came here
Sleeping Beauty's in a foul mood
For shame she says
None for you dear prince, I'm tired today
I'd rather sleep my whole life away than have you keep me from dreaming

[Chorus:]
'cause I don't care for your fairytales
You're so worried about the maiden though you know
She's only waiting on the next best thing

Snow White is doing dishes again cause
What else can you do
With seven itty-bitty men?
Sends them to bed and calls up a friend
Says will you meet me at midnight?
The tall blonde lets out a cry of despair says
Would have cut it myself if I knew men could climb hair
I'll have to find another tower somewhere and keep away from the windows

[Chorus]

Once upon a time in a faraway kingdom
Man made up a story said that I should believe him
Go and tell your white knight that he's handsome in hindsight
But I don't want the next best thing
So I sing and hold my head down and I break these walls round me
Can't take no more of your fairytale love

[Chorus]

I don't care
I don't care
Worry bout the maiden though you know
She's only waiting spent the whole life being graded on the sanctity of patience and a dumb
Appreciation
But the story needs some mending and a better happy ending
Cause I don't want the next best thing
No no I don't want the next best thing

Yarn Dyeing

I just finished dyeing a ball of white cotton yarn in a plastic bin. This was my first time trying it and I had to use food coloring because I didn't feel like getting any Kool-Aid at the time. My hands were horrible before! Luckily, my brother is a mechanic so he has this stuff that gets like LITERALLY anything  off of your body. It used like crushed up pumice stones or something. All I KNOW is that it works like a dream. Right now the yarn is drying out side in between two towels in front of my house. :)

Pretty Purse Update

Last night, with help from my mom, I finished the purse. She helped with the finished product by telling me what to put on it since it was just, you know, a pink purse.

VIOLA!

Rag Rug progress

Last night I stayed up until 3 because I really wanted to get started on all of my craft fair things. The fair is in the end of August but I barely have ANYTHING! I made a mini scarf, a washcloth, worked on the rug, and as I'm typing this, a "pretty" purse. No joke, thats what the color is called. My dad says its nuclear pink.

I know for a fact that I am NOT going to be selling the rug because it seriously has a lot of sentimental value to me right now. I have my favorite pajama pants that stopped fitting me three years ago, my favorite Blue's Clues shirt and a lot of other things I really like. Maybe I'll sell one where I get the scraps from Goodwill or something.

Thats all for now! :)

Felting, well brushing and Rag Rug

Yesterday I cleaned out my sink especially well so I could felt my first item. I have a front load washer so I did it by hand. I sat there agitating the yarn for half an hour with no results. I got so fed up I just grabbed one of my dog brushed and just used that instead. The bowl is still in the process of drying but so far it looks pretty good.  There is still some
stitch definition but I meant to do that.

Last night at like 8 I started my new obsession. Crocheting with my hands. Its not as hard as you would think. The only thing that is different is that after a while your hand REALLY hurt but thats after like 6 hours. Basically, you are crocheting with a bendy crochet hook. ANYWAY, I was making a rag rug out of old T-shirts until 1 in the morning. Its not that big but only because that counts me cutting apart the pieces and things.

First Felting

Today, well about 30 minutes ago, I went to my local JoAnn's and I got of course: yarn. It seems every time I go to a yarn store or a place that sells yarn I get at least one ball. Let's just say I'm addicted. Anyway, I normally buy acrylic  yarn for its cheapness and depending on the brand, softness. Sometimes I get cotton too but only Sugar and Cream because there are so many colors to choose from! This time though, I bought some WOOL. You read that right folks. WOOL. I had been at the library earlier and I saw these really cute felted bowls. And since cotton can't be felted (as far as I know) and neither can acrylic, I got some wool. Well It is 80% wool and 20% alpaca but the label said it can felt so yay! I'll keep you updated on the bowls.

Cactus :)

I followed this pattern made by Ana Paula Rimoli from her Amigurumi World book. It's an awesome book and I really recommend it. :)

As you may have noticed...

I have just recently changed my blog design and I think its for the better. That was totally off topic of what I was GOING to say. I was GOING to tell you that I, like most people have many WIPs (works in progress) Well, I guess its not that many. Only 6. A cactus, a scarf, another scarf, a frog, a baby blanket and Pi for my math teacher. Well I guess I'll go watch Dumplings and finish a thing or two.

Adios!

7 minutes to type

Okay, this post is going to be fast since my computer is about to die and well, no charger is in sight. I read a book recently (actually today) and its amazing. It's called. Crap six minutes. Anyway, its called the year of secret assignments. And its about these three kids from rival schools that write using a pen pal program thingy. Its actually much more interesting then its sounds. Although I think I made it more exciting in my mind because I read most of it in Social Studies and well, half my mind was in the book and the other half in class. (We were being lectured on the war) Since I wanna get some crochet stuff in here.... I started to crochet a cactus for one of my teacher who cant grow flowers. She kills all of them. Three minutes. Anyway. I have a knitting class every Wednesday at the local library. Its so fun although it is getting a bit crowded. I seem to write more when I'm rushed on time. Anyway. Two minutes. I'll write more tomorrow! Bye!

Somebody has to say it.

If you have ever been in a public place, (which if you haven't then that's pretty amazing) you know that sometimes, places just smell bad. Maybe it's the sewer, the Axe, or something else.
(By the way, I have no idea why men keep buying Axe, to most ladies it smells terrible!) But sometimes, it might just be someone's breath, or multiple people's breath. Who knows? Anyway, I just hate it when someone's breath smells bad and they don't know it. Now I'm not saying everyones mouth smells like a pot of daisies. But, sometimes its just like smelling a skunk convention. I have a friend that for some reason, likes to really breathe on people when she talks, she gets right in your face. I have no idea why she does this and i don't know if she thinks about it at all. Oh, and by just being around her, you can smell this kind of rotten smell, like boiled eggs, but worse. It might just be a medical condition or something, but its horrible. I'm not trying to be mean but, Somebody has to say it.

So today I was watching a bunch of Infomercials

If you have ever stayed up past 2 AM watching infomercials, you would know what I'm talking about. It seems to me that us lazy Americans can't put on a towel, fold our clothes right, or use a blanket. Along with many other things. I think I'm starting to lose hope for my generation.
